Visit with Aunt Jean and Uncle Harold

After Mom and I spent the morning at Body Worlds, we joined Missy and went to visit Aunt Jean and Uncle Harold. (They are my mom's Aunt and Uncle) It was a humbling experience and our heart ached for Uncle Harold as he is getting old and confused. However, he still has his humor and was quick with his remarks!

It is difficult to watch someone you love gradually deteriorate. One of the reasons we moved to Medford was to help take care of my 92 yr old grandparents. My grandpa had dementia, and he often hallucinated about all kinds of things. We would play along with him, but Grandma could never bring herself to do that. She always thought it was like lying to him, and she would never lie to her husband. They lived for six more years before Grandma died in 2000, and Grandpa a year later. It was sad, but definitely gave me an appreciate for the circle of life.
