Young Women's

Young Women's Retreat in Park City...

I enjoy watching Jordan just be a teenager. Of course she couldn't stay the night because she had a test session the next day for figure skating. She does an incredible job juggling both her skating world and just being a teenager!
...and then I saw her practicing her skating positions! It's just apart of her. Last week she took 3 days off the ice. We went shopping for a few hours and she was gliding on the floors as if she was on the ice. She does not like the feeling of being away from her ice!

He is so close...

I love him...I am proud of him...
The next few weeks I honestly deserve! I look forward to mailing his announcements, printing his photos, getting the guest room ready for my Mom and to proudly sit at Taylor's High School Graduation. I also look forward to helping him register for Salt Lake Community College and watch him drive away with the Trooper!

Strike One!

I still found a way to be at the ball park!!! Taylor isn't playing but is now umpiring the local little leagues...how lucky am I! I watched him umpire, fighting back the tears, recalling all the amazing memories of spending a warm, breezy evening at the ball park!
Taylor was absolutely incredible. In control and had fun with the kids! He even stopped the game because the batter had his shirt tucked out (imagine that). The parents were laughing and he look backed at us and said, "If I have to tuck in my shirt and keep my pants up, so will they..." The parents loved it. I loved watching him be involved with the young players and the confidence he had on the field.

As I drove him home (not much longer, since he will have his driver's license and car next month), I asked him if he missed it. He paused for quite some time and told me, "After the first night I was umpiring, I rode my bike to my house and cried. I missed playing in the little leagues, it went by so fast...I miss playing baseball!" After I dropped him off, I cried! Our family has been so blessed from a simple wooden bat and a white baseball. I can't believe our journey is over in this phase. One of the best things our family was involved in. It was worth every late night, long board meetings, ticked off Dad's and pure exhaustion. I will never regret my years involved in baseball!!!

30 More Days...

While I was gone, Taylor had to renew his permit because he is FINALLY taking Drivers Education and should receive his drivers license and the TROOPER the first week of June. This is a HUGE milestone for our family!

SAME SEAT, SAME TABLE, SAME ROOM

Later that evening, we attended an Athlete Alumni Dinner with Kristi Yamaguchi.

It was a successful Governing Council and wonderful trip to Buffalo, New York...but I am so happy to be back home!!!

Ahhh, it's Another Birthday

I was once told that the wonderful idea about your birthday is that you are one year closer to reuniting with those you miss so much!
(Not that I plan to join them soon...but it's a comforting idea when getting older!) I love that we wore matching glasses! I have a precious letter she wrote to me when I turned 18...that was 20 years ago!
