Pluckers, Pickers and Poppers

It's true the Huerta Girls are pluckers, pickers and poppers.
Missy is in California visiting Cubby and Mom.
Don't know how she did it...but I am jealous!
Cubby let her pluck his eyebrows!

I think Cubby is waiting for me to visit...I plan to use hot wax!!!

Our Last Day

Our flight didn't leave until 10:30 pm. We had all day to catch more rays and snorkel. We then packed and sent the rest of the evening in Kona. We went shopping and watched the most amazing sunset! Jason is such a tourist!
The flight was very long and tiring. I never flew a red eye and don't care to again! It was difficult to sleep. We arrived in LA to a huge rainstorm and delayed flight. Finally, we were home and arrived to this...

It's strange to experience two climates in less than 8 hours!!!

Valentine's Day

By this time, I forget I had three children until Tanner called me at 4:00 am!!! He wanted to discuss his class schedule for next year...WHAT!?!?!?!?!? Jason and I ate lunch with the dolphins and watched them play. Then we spent more hours in the sun...

For dinner, we ate at a Japanese restaurant. They cooked the meal in front of us. I am with John's wife Lisa. Our meal started off with a wash cloth and edema beans along with seaweed soup. Interesting... John ordered me a lobster since I never ate one before. No one complained when I offered to share it with others. It was good but again just a strange texture. The grilled vegetables were yummy and I added steak to dip in this unusual sauce...it was fantastic. Garlic rice and other odd food I haven't tried was terrific. I learned how to use chop sticks and ended the meal with Green Tea Ice Cream! YUMMY...

If you didn't take the tram or boat, you had the option of walking...a long walk to your hotel. In one section, you walked along various statues and art. Jason kept us entertained with his jokes about the various art pieces...

Exploring the Island

We took one day to explore the island. It was a very windy day with intense sun. The lookout points were amazing.

While we were exploring, we found this little sandwich place that had the most amazing passion fruit drink! Seriously, I will remember it forever!!!After exploring, Jason and I went back to the sun rays and more "virgin" Lava drinks!!!

Next Few Days in Hawaii

Our first morning, we attended a class with a free continental breakfast to learn more about the Island and resort. I was glad we attended and received great information! After the class, Jason and I walked around the resort. This lagoon area is from the ocean. You can snorkel, kayak and rent many other toys to play in the water. It's a beautiful beach front. It's loaded with turtles and tropical fish along with eel! As you walk around you can see them. Here we are behind the waterfall. After our walk, Jason played a round of golf with his boss while I was waiting for this moment... Forget seafood...this is all I wanted! The "virgin" Lava drink, Hawaiian Tropic and sunglasses. I could not get enough of the sun. My body thirst for it! As I soaked the rays for HOURS, I didn't think once about teenagers, snow or ice rink. I just listened to the waves from the ocean and thought about how much I loved Jason. (I know sappy, but it's true!!!)That evening we had a wonderful dinner with John and his wife Lisa and their three year old...I know what you are thinking..."they brought their three year old!" He was actually a very good, cute kid who returned to his mommy's room and not mine!!!For dinner, I had a yummy steak and tried all types of fresh fish. If your enjoyed deep fried rubberbands, you may enjoy some of the meals. Still didn't care for the fish. The best was my garlic potatoes that were quite heavenly!!! After my third "virgin" Lava drink, I was done for the night.

We also spent a couple hours at the beach. The ocean water was so warm and fun to go body surfing. I didn't take any photos but witnessed an elderly lady that looked like a life size Slim Jim beef jerky. It was horrific to view. I regret not taking a photo and almost went back to take one! I don't think I can ever eat a Slim Jim again!!!

Each night was filled with delicious meals. I continued to try different fish but one bite was enough for me. By the third day, my skin was taking on some color. My dad would be proud to see me brown again!!!

First Day in Hawaii

It was an incredible, romantic week in Hawaii. We were on the Big Island and stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Jason and I left in the wee hours, after shoveling a few inches of snow. Our plane had to be de-iced as we left Salt Lake City. We arrived at the Kona Airport. The airport was outdoors, with birds and flowers everywhere. It was a different experience walking off the plane onto the ground and feeling the sun. Our room was fantastic, overlooking the golf course and ocean. This view is from our balcony. The hotel has three main towers and you either ride the tram or boat to your hotel room.

Here we are taking the boat around the resort. So much to see!

This is the view outside our room. It's the adult pool. One of many, many pools on this resort. We spent the rest of the evening visiting a market called "Queen's Market" and purchased snacks for the room. We ate at a local restaurant and I had shrimp with my pasta. It wasn't bad but I couldn't finish all the shrimp. I am not a sea food eater but I was willing to try different types of seafood. However, I was no longer going to make it my main meal. Other's would have to share a piece for me to try!

Taylor is 18!!!

It's here...finally here. Taylor is 18 years old. When I found out I was pregnant, I started a journal for him. Jason and I often wrote when he was young and unfortunately, we were not as consistent as he grew older. We added photos and shared our hopes and dreams for him in his journal. I described his birth, blessings and how I dealt with his broken bones. Jason also wrote very tender feelings about having a son. A few months ago, we gave him the journal to read. He finally read it this past week and I believe it touched him in an unexpected way. Jason and I never wrote about how many piercings in his nose he will have or how large his gauges will be. We never wrote about the hell he would put us through...instead the journal was filled with love and our anticipation of what he would become. He is now considered an adult...strange because he is still that little boy. I pray that this will be a year of positive changes for him!

Happy Birthday Taylor!
