Spring Break in Las Vegas...the boys had a baseball tournament in Las Vegas the past week. Jordan finished her last lesson with her choreographer and then we were off to St. George to visit Kathy for the night. After an enjoyable stay with Kathy, we packed the "Mothership" and was off to Las Vegas. Interesting place...we had a great hotel room off the strip. The boys had their own room with the team and we had another room. The first day the team explored and played at Circus Circus. Jordan also found a rink close by and practiced in the mornings. Traffic was horrible but the weather was amazing. The games were a blast to watch under the lights in such warm weather. Friday was a LONG day with three games starting at 1:00 pm and finally ending at 11:00 pm. One evening Jordan, Jason and I walked the strip for a grueling 3.5 hours. Our feet hurt, we smelled like cigarettes, and were sick of all the "trading" cards that were given to everyone! It was fun to see the lights, water show and even the lion's den at MGM. I know we missed much much more in Las Vegas but it's a crazy city!!! However, it was fun to be together and take a break from the snow. The sun felt so terrific, no one cared about getting burned! On our way home, we stayed another night with Kathy. The boys loved being at her house and eating all her food! Now the season for baseball begins this week, unfortunately, we woke up to over 5 inches of snow...

Happy Birthday Missy!!!
It's Missy's birthday today!!! She is .... she would not be happy if I posted her age. However, she is more beautiful, fun and lovable as she gets older! When Jason and I were married and I left the house, Missy was still in middle school. We never really had a chance to be close since it wasn't "cool" to share a room with your younger sister. Once I had kids, she thankfully bonded with Tanner as a toddler because he was a handful...but now since moving to Utah we have had a blast. Sunday's are my favorite days because we usually have dinner with Missy and spend the afternoon with her. I am very lucky to have her close by and we have made up for the years we missed growing up and our age difference of 5 years...I love how Missy plays such an important part of our family and affects every one of us. The boys love making Starbuck runs with her and staying the night at her place, Jordan lights up when she sees her car in the driveway or bakes with her in the kitchen, Jason enjoys every movie they see and grocery shopping and I love just having her close by and someone to talk to! Happy Birthday Missy!!!

The "Mothership" is Back!
She has returned after a lonely few weeks in Park City!!! She is running beautifully as she should with the new parts that cost a hefty penny... I only have a few more years with the "Mothership" then it will be time to down size. And Mom, I took care of the ticket on the trooper. It's registered and also has new parts that cost a hefty penny! Next stop is to visit Kathy Olson in St. George then to Las Vegas for a baseball tournament. The family is looking forward for spring break!!!

Mom's Visit to Utah
It was a quick but fun trip with Mom. While I was busy at a skating test session, Mom and the family had dinner with Uncle Steve (Mom's brother), Jeff (Mom's cousin) and Steven J (Mom's nephew). Jordan tested on Saturday and passed her Novice Moves in the Field and Intermediate Freeskate...what does this mean? She basically competes at a higher level. There are 5 qualifying levels in Figure Skating. Intermediate is the 2nd of 5 levels.
Steven J
Jason dropped Tanner off to meet his girlfriend's grandparents, while I finished with Jordan's test session and Taylor was getting ready for Jr. Prom. Mom and Missy left for Kingsbury Hall and Jason and I met them once the kids were chauffeured around.
Second Photo: Mitt RomneyThe Ten Tenors: It was a great concert. Mitt Romney and his wife attended, they sat very close to us. The first half of the concert was OK...(I was getting sleepy.) but then ten Aussie's kicked it up a notch and sang terrific songs from the BeeGee's to Queen. It was entertaining and fun! Thanks Mom for taking us.

Baseball and Mom
Yesterday Mom arrived and we went straight to running errands. The first week of baseball is always expensive because the boys tell me every day something they are missing! Of course the team couldn't keep red socks and red belts for their home and away uniforms. The boys have been playing baseball for over 10 years, we always have belts throughout the house that we have collected but come game day can we find them...NO! So I just added two more belts to our collection that I am sure I will find this weekend. On our way to the sports store, I was then pulled over by the nicest cop in Midvale. He felt so guilty to give me a ticket for my expired registration. Remember the "Mothership" is still in the shop getting an expensive repair in Park City. Meanwhile, I am driving the trooper that we have saved for Taylor. It was considered non operating because no one was driving it. After the "Mothership" needed repairs, I increased the insurance and went to get the car's emissions and safety check for the registration that is only 30 days overdue. It didn't pass the safety check because of a leaky power steering pump. I then called another repair shop to only find out they have to order the part and it can be replaced on Monday. I explained all of this to the officer and showed him my proof but he still gave me the fix it ticket. After a few more stops to purchase more contacts for Tan Man since he ripped the last one that morning, we dropped off the BLACK baseball socks and belts along with contacts to Tanner, picked up Jordan and watched her skate. We came home for 30 minutes and then quickly left to watch the boys play baseball for 3 hours in very cold weather. Taylor was pitching and Tanner played second. It was the JV game and we won! The boys were awesome. Cubby would have loved watching this game and it was perfect having both of them play on the field together. It's been a long time since both boys had an opportunity to play together. Both hit doubles, Taylor pitched 4 innings then made some great plays at first. Despite the cold weather, it was a great game to watch. We came home and I made this interesting Mexican dinner dish in the crock pot that was actually good. I thought it deserved a photo!
Mom and I freezing at the field. When it's a Varsity game the players are required to wear shirt and tie to school! I love it. The boys wear ties at least twice a week and they don't complain. It's sweet to have them wear all the different ties they collected from my Dad.
