Broadmoor 2007

Watching Jordan skate in the World Arena and seeing her scores post on the jumbo tran was definitely a moment for me. You can read more about her experience on her website, http://www.jordanking.us/.

My Favorite Boys

Baseball, our family loves baseball. I really don't mind the red filthy, stinky baseball socks, or Taylor washing his new red jersey in a load of whites, or stepping on a baseball in the middle of the night. I love a hot day, sitting in my chair with peanuts and a slurpee watching my boys play the game of baseball. Our family has made terrific friends through this sport and have many memories. I still remember the days my dad took me to watch the Giants and Dodgers play at the Candlestick in San Francisco. We love baseball!

Family Photo

Last month, a dear high school friend took family photos. Carin is amazing! Our last family photo was a few weeks before Jason's snowboarding accident...almost 4 years ago. Time goes by fast.

My Handsome Taylor

Taylor is awesome! He left his dad the sweetest letter for Father's Day. Jason is a terrific father and I love to watch the bond he has with Taylor and Tanner. I just love Taylor. He is still my gentle giant...I have a few gray hairs from him but wouldn't want it any other way! Taylor endures so much. He was pitching with a broken foot and just last month he broke his wrist. Fortunately, it's been minor fractures. I had such a "mom moment" watching him pitch this season. It's hard to believe he has literally broken every bone in his leg and arm he throws from.

Traveling Begins....

It's been quite a week. Jordan got a sinus infection and couldn't skate for a few days. Her doctor has loaded her up with medication that has cleared her sinus and now good to travel. Jordan's knee has also flared up due to growing 2 inches in three months and getting ready to start the competition season. Her physical therapist is helping her along and we see him before we fly to Colorado. She skated in a local competition and didn't skate well but learned valuable lessons for the big competition. Her dress is amazing and beautiful on the ice!!! Thanks Jill for working so hard! More pictures to come, wish us luck!!!

Jason and Tanner Camping

Since Taylor was in California, Jordan was sleeping over at a friends house and I was going to clean the house...the boys decided to take an adventure and go camping. Tanner had a blast just being with his Dad. He couldn't tell me what his favorite part was, he loved it all!

A Week of Surprises!

I had a terrific evening last night and it was a perfect surprise! My evening was winding down after a day at the rink and shuffling kids around the valley. Jordan was staying the night at a friends house, Tanner was at youth night, Taylor in California and Jason taking Missy to the airport. I had the whole house in a peaceful silence until the door bell rang and it was two old friends from High School. Mark Taylor and Chad Vannucci surprised me with a visit. It was so much fun to hear about their families, challenges and faith, the past 15 plus years. Chad summed it up by saying we had the best time growing up. Mark, Chad and I had the best ward, incredible ward leaders, Hamilton Air Force Base, Novato High and parents that supported our crazy adventures. We were fortunate to have that experience! Thanks Mom and Dad for providing a terrific place to grow up. Unfortunately, today Hamilton Air Force Base isn't there and the surroundings are not the same! Mark, Chad and I went to the same elementary, middle school and high school. It was awesome to have our paths cross again! Now, it would be great to have a photo but I am still getting use to taking photos and forgot....HOWEVER, I do have a photo of a dessert I made on Sunday. (Yes, I made it) The crust was some kind of melted pretzels and it needed to be cooled before I added the strawberry jello stuff. Of course, I didn't have much time so I thought I would stand there by the freezer to cool off the dish...The photo includes this weird cream cheese and whip cream mix on my nose thanks to Missy. The family was in shock I was cooking such a dessert. It was good.

Graduation for Tanner-8th Grade

Tanner has finished his years at Clayton!!! He is heading to East with Taylor. Clayton's promotion was very nice and Tanner was well behaved. Like his new haircut??? His week of activities were quiet, due to choices he had made. Instead of going out to lunch with friends, he is eating lunch with me (lucky me!!!)...I will take him out instead of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Good News for Tanner, he is playing baseball this summer with Taylor and Jason on the East summer league. He has a fun summer planned with river rafting and Scout Camp.

Graduation for Jordan-6th Grade

Jordan's week has been filled with loads of graduation activities. She has been to two swim parks, Lagoon, Graduation Dinner, dance and promotion. It's a new beginning for many of her friends. Her school feeds into 4 different middle schools and this was their last time together. I was excited to have our last one through elementary!!! No more Halloween parades, carnivals, valentine boxes, or driving up the steep hill in the snow. Jordan is ready to move on, so is Mom! She has skated one hour a day with all the activities going on. It's been a good time to heal her quad.

BUSY WEEK!!!

The past week has been too busy!!! I have decided I do not like 14 year olds, really I do not like them. They know everything. However, I found moments that remind me how much I love Tanner. After getting in much trouble Sunday night, I had the pleasure of shaving his head. It was therapeutic for me. We try to tolerate the "shag" look but once you misbehave the haircut gets shorter and shorter. So you can only imagine how much trouble Tanner was in to have his head shaved. Meanwhile, Taylor being on his best behavior since the clippers were already charged, made an amazing video of Jordan's ice show last week. Taylor has been busy making his portfolio for Spy Hop Productions this summer. He recently won first place at East HS for his photograph and numerous awards the past few months in other photo contests. Taylor has developed a wonderful talent in film and photo. He had a fun time at prom but I do not have any pictures yet because he left the camera in his friends car...Taylor had his end of the year Baseball Party for East. Playing baseball this year has been a great experience for the family. I am very, very proud of him. He broke his foot once but at the location of the pin Shriner's inserted a few years ago. He was still able to play. Tanner had an 8th grade awards night that I made him attend wearing a shirt and tie. He looked handsome but remember I was still mad at him. He earned the Principal's Excellence Award for his GPA of 3.5 or higher and also an art award for placing 3rd in a state wide art contest. I started to like him again...The highlight of the week was Thursday night. We took family photos and Tanner was so funny, I was crying. Thank you Carin for letting us invade your busy life!!! My dear friend from high school who is an amazing photographer took our pictures along with Taylor. Taylor was drooling over her cameras and loved every minute at her house. I can't wait to share the photos but it will take awhile since Carin is so busy. It was a long time our family was together outside an ice rink or baseball field...I loved Thursday night with the family. Meanwhile, Jordan pulled her IT band in her quad. It's very minor but we reduced her skating to one hour for the next few days. She started to jump today and tolerated the pain. Her physical therapist gives her a deep muscle massage that doesn't make her smile but it speeds up the healing process! Her first competition of the season is in three weeks. The kids have one more week of school that is filled with two graduations (Jordan and Tanner's) Taylor has a new job at the Sports Complex and Tanner will be my new companion till I can trust him again! I hope to attach photos in the next few days!

Grandpa's Chicken

WE MISS YOU MOM AND DAD, Utah is WAITING FOR YOU!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We are having a relaxing morning. Aunt Missy and Jordan is in yoga. The boys are still asleep and Jason is cutting flowers for me. A little update on the family.

Jason: He is working hard and staying very busy at work. He is busy with baseball and umpiring games during the week. The East Side Babe Ruth organization is growing and having a successful season.

Tiffany: The past fews weeks have been so busy!!! Many baseball games and of course Jordan's skating schedule has kept me on my toes. This week the weather has been really warm, so I am starting to look hispanic again!

Taylor: He just finished his first season playing for East High Baseball. The team played amazing ball this past week. We are all recovering from the exciting games. The team did not make it to playoffs but it was an emotional last game for the seniors on the team. Tears were running down my face watching the senior boys hug their mom's! It was a moment I won't forget. Taylor broke his foot a few weeks ago but he has a pin inside the bone and is still walking around. He even pitched with the broken foot. He invited to a prom dance of a local high school. It's next weekend. This week we will get him all ready for the big event (with Aunt Missy's help). Taylor loves photography and filming. Next week we are finally taking family protraits. Taylor will be taking the photos of Jordan and Tanner.

Tanner: He is at the wonderful age of 14! Anyone that has experienced a 14 year old recalls how wonderful it is...Tanner has a few weeks at Clayton Middle School then off to East with his brother. He is playing baseball and having a terrific season. He is very excited to play ball with Taylor in the near future. (Taylor will be playing a summer and fall season with East. Tanner will hopefully join him in the fall.) He is really funny and keeps us laughing!

Jordan: She has a very busy week. Jordan is skating in a ice show, hosted by Salt Lake Figure Skating. She was asked to skate a solo and many group numbers. Jason is announcing. It will be busy but fun week. She is finishing her last weeks in elementary school!!! We start traveling next month. I plan to update her website soon. www.jordanking.us

Aunt Missy: Oh, life wouldn't be the same without Aunt Missy!!! She shares a part in this Mother's Day. I can't believe she has only been here for a year. I needed her much sooner! She is the best Aunt in the world. She stays busy at work and teaching Jazzercise!

I am new to this blog stuff but because our family is located in many different states, I thought this would be fun to share. So Aunt Sam, Karli, Mom, Cubby and Megan, Tom and Julie join in and start a blog!!! So far it seems easy! We need to see more photos and hear about each other!
